Online Texas Hold Em Table Limits Betting Options
If you have been following along, so far we have covered what Texas Hold Em Poker is, the ranking of hands and went through an example hand so that you could follow along on how a hand progresses during a hand of Texas Hold Em Poker.
Today we will just briefly cover the definitions of table limits and what options are most commonly available to you when it is your turn to "act" or bet.
TABLE LIMITS
The following are three of the most common type of tables or table limits.
No Limit: A game where players can bet as much as they like (as long as they have enough chips or money in front of them on the table) in any round of betting.
Pot Limit: This is a game where the maximum bet would be equal to the value of the pot.
Limit Poker: A game that has fixed minimum and maximum betting intervals along with a prescribed number of raises.
BETTING
The following are the most common options available to you while playing online Texas Hold Em Poker.
Blind: The bets that must be made by the two players sitting directly to the left of the dealer. This will start the action on the first round of betting. Note: The blinds are posted before any cards are dealt.
Raise: To increase the previous bet. The amount you raise depends on the type of "Limit" on the table you are playing.
Check: When it's a players turn to act and there has been no action in front of them and (s)he opts not to bet.
Call:When a player matches the previous bet.
Fold: To throw your hand in when it is your turn to act. You will no longer be in this hand and any money previously bet remains in the pot.
